As my then not-operating brain started this blog, one late night of early Januar. I had quicky been drawn to the new hero of the day, the first-term senator Barack Obama. So he won the election, not just the Iowa Caucuses, not just the primaries, but the race for the White House. Sometimes it feels great to be right, to project the answer of a long fought campaign. The growing popularity of this new star on the horison, gave birth to a lot of attacks. One that was totally out of reality was the poor try to stamp him as "the celebrity action-hero". Obama is not Jack Bauer or any other ficitonal wonderboy coming home to rescue you at night, or save the country with ways of torture and the impossible. He is simply an American with new ideas, a new deal for this country. A man that can rise to the standard of the greatet President of all time, Franklin D. Roosevelt, or so does Chapel Hill hope. The challenges for America is big, it is a steep uphill climb to succeed at such a hard mission. The Economy is down to a frightening levels, many Americans are loosing their homes, many are out of a job and some get sick. Without free universal healthcare what is an average Joe supposed to do. You are out of a job, you can not afford health insurance and you die of cancer. It is simple and it is easy to understand, and plain logic says, GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! We can only hope that the Democratic Party will stand up when they have the chance to do what George W. Bush would never think of and what the republicans are too ignorant to see as a problem.
With their old fashioned Reagen wannabe ways, they do not present anything else then complete tragedie as a political party. Soon their days are coming to an end, eventually Bush is leaving the Oval Office and we never have to be ashamed of our President again! Should be great with a President with IQ over the levels of a grey hound, wouldnt you say?
Welcome Obama, Goodbye freaky fanatic!
